What APA style is (and who uses it)
APA (American Psychological Association) style is the standard in psychology, education, nursing, and much of the social sciences. It uses an author–date system: a short in-text citation like (Smith, 2024) points readers to a full reference in an alphabetized reference list. The journal name and the volume number are in italics; the article title is in sentence case (only the first word capitalized).
